Are you planning a same sex wedding in Glasgow? I would love to capture your wedding for you.
I had an absolute blast photographing these guys. who travelled up from England to celebrate their union in Glasgow. The couple travelled up from England to celebrate their union in Glasgow. This wedding was just before the news came from the USA announcing the legalisation of same-sex marriage. It was the first time I have photographed a same-sex marriage and I hope it’s not the last.
The couple met while studying in Glasgow so we made a point to incorporate the University and the nearby Kelvingrove Park. We decided to meet up before the ceremony to take the portraits. It was a great way for them to relax in front of the camera and really helped to get some memorable photographs. Taking portrait before the ceremony isn’t for everyone but every wedding is different. Walking around taking photos in the beautiful gardens was fun. We walked and talked till it was time go get ready for the guests to arrive.
The ceremony itself was in Woodlands Methodist Church where Owain’s Mother (who happens to be a minister) joined in with the proceedings. St Andrew’s in the Square, an 18th-century former church, was the setting for the reception. It’s an iconic building and a dream to have as a backdrop to my images. Friends of the newlyweds helped to decorate the hall. They also pitched in and baked a number of wedding cakes. I love to photograph the wedding details, so I had plenty of things to keep me busy.
If you Gay or Lesbian and are looking for wedding photographers in Glasgow who capture both civil ceremony and pink weddings, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can start the ball rolling by going HERE to contact me. Hopefully hear from you soon. I would love to help you out.
Cheers,
